My Lights Won't Turn OnUpdated an hour ago

First check that the light connections are tight and the proper buttons on the remote control are activated. See the appropriate Light Issues Help Article for your Aquafire Model.

If they are still not turning on, the most likely answer is they have shorted out and need to be replaced. LED lights in a wet environment will cut the lifespan and therefore do need to be replaced periodically, which is why we consider them a wear item. We sell replacement LED lights directly through our website: https://www.aquafire.com/collections/replacement-parts

If you feel the lights have shorted prematurely, the top 3 causes of lights not functioning properly are:

  • Excess mist falling back onto the light connection. The most common causes of this are:
    • Strong air currents in the room that push the vapor onto the lighting connections
    • Down-drafting - which is when the vapor is pulled down into the interior of the Aquafire when the HVAC turns on. It is caused by openings within the walls behind/underneath the Aquafire enclosure
  • Scaling accumulating on the light connection
  • Any kind of water leaking onto the light connection due to improper manual filling or other customer interaction.

Once the lights have shorted, it is hard to bring them back to life. However, you can prevent the excess vapor and scaling with:

  • Regular cleaning
  • A water softener, such as the Vapor Pure
  • Redirecting any strong air currents in the room so vapor is not being pushed back onto the lights.
  • Insulating or installing a barrier in the open wall space underneath and behind your Aquafire enclosure.
  • Refrain from operating the Aquafires 24/7. Constant operation will cause excess vapor to settle on the lighting connections.
  • Set the flame settings (height and speed) to a lower setting
  • Adjust the flame for your environment
