Room Air Flow ConsiderationsUpdated 7 months ago
Downdrafts
Open wall cavities beneath the fireplace can cause air to be pulled into the open wall and out of the enclosure. This pressure change creates suction which can pull the flame downward into the fireplace effecting the height and appearance of the flame
We recommend to seal off any open wall cavities within the enclosure and beneath the fireplace insert to keep air current from pulling down on the flame.
Air Currents
Avoid blowing air currents from HVAC units directly toward the Aquafire Insert. Direct air currents can prevent vapor from rising vertically as designed and limit the flame height
Aquafire Air Vents
Air vents are situation atop the insert to enable airflow when the device is placed within an enclosure. Should there be a preference for a decorative top or media obstructing these vents, the enclosure design needs to facilitate adequate airflow through the sides or bottom. See this article for additional information regarding air intake requirements and media use
