How to avoid ceiling light bleedUpdated 8 days ago
Aquafire uses a series of powerful LED light strips to illuminate the water vapor creating the illusion of real flames. Depending on the design of an enclosure and overall fireplace surround, these lights can escape the front of the enclosure and potentially project onto the ceiling of the room. Some clients enjoy this feature stating it gives additional warmth to the overall experience while others find that it distracts from the fireplace and the overall effect they desire
Light Bleed Examples:
To avoid this, we recommend:
- Creating a light trap
- Minimizing the viewing window height (see light path comparisons)
- Increasing the distance from the front of insert to edge of hearth with matching cover (see common setbacks)
